2018 Went by in a Blink

Well, it's official. I'm a failure at the family blog. My time is spent elsewhere and that's okay I guess. However, for anyone who still wanders by...We are all doing well.

The girls are in college, the boys stay busy with band/track/plays at school, Nathan has moved teams several times at work and is finally happy (I think...), and I run around trying to do everything at once like I always have.

We met some of our goals for 2018. Nathan and I both lost some weight, we completed some projects around the house, but the best part was the trips we went on. Nathan and I drove down to Dallas to see Les Miserables in May. It was a quick trip, but lots of fun.

Later that month we went to Ireland. That was probably the highlight of the year for me. The countryside was beautiful and Dublin was awesome. I was comfortable enough walking around on my own while Nathan was at work. We went so he could teach a class there for a week. He worked during the day and I wrote like a mad person for the most part. However, I did get out and explore some too. Then he would come home at night and we'd get out together.

In August, we took the kids on another cruise, along with my mom and one of my aunts. We relaxed, actually went to the ship gym three times, and I managed to lose 2 lbs on the trip!

We all accomplished various things I could list, but the best parts of the year were the things we did together. I'm looking forward to making more memories with these crazy people I love in 2019.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Best Family Vacation Ever!

This goes down as one of the best vacations ever. Maybe it's because we haven't been on a real vacation in four years. We've been lucky to go visit family, and Nathan and I have "run away" to the temple, but this was our first unplug and have nothing but fun vacation in a while.

Our thinking was this:

Kiah and Ashlee could be leaving our home any day (in 3-4 months for sure) to go on a mission and start college. Life will never be the same again. We really wanted one great memory to carry us into the next stage of our life.

July 2013

I can't believe an entire month has passed by so quickly! To be honest, I'm not even sure what we did in July. The girls had Girl's Camp and Youth Conference in June and July, Adam had his last year at Cub Scout Day camp, and then we traveled to TN for two weeks.

There were a few things in between in there, but mostly we've just been busy trying to see everyone and relax in between.

Nathan has now lost a total of 25 lbs, and I was half a pound away from 20 before leaving for TN. My only hope now is that I didn't gain too much while traveling. There are just too many tempting foods at my mom's house!

While in TN I did a book signing at Hastings. Of course I forgot my camera, but Adam took this picture for me with my phone.
I think I sold 7 books that night. However, the fun part was seeing some good friends from high school. Thanks Adam, Elise and Jen for being there!

Great Vacation

*sigh* Nathan and I are back from a wonderful 5 day cruise. Yep, my mom was right. It only took one and I was hooked. With two cruises under my belt I now think I might be addicted to the pampering and stress free lifestyle.

Here's the slide show. I know it's long, but how do you pick which photos to leave out???

Anniversary Cruise

We finally did something other than school, work, laundry, church, same old same old stuff that is worth blogging about. Enjoy, I know I did. The best part was having Nathan to myself for a whole week, no work, and no one needed anything from us. What a wonderful week!
